Hi there, I’m ColeQuartel, a Bristol-based artist known for my abstract paintings.
I’ve been creating art for as long as I can remember, and I’ve always been drawn to the abstract form. I find that abstract paintings allow me to express myself in a way that’s more intuitive and spontaneous, and I love the freedom that comes with creating non-representational works.
My abstract paintings are often characterized by their neutral colour palettes and heavily textured surfaces. I love using muted, earthy tones in my work, and I find that these colours create a sense of calm and serenity.
In terms of texture, I love to experiment with different techniques and mediums. I often use layering, scratching, and collaging to create richly textured surfaces that are full of depth and movement.
In addition to my abstract paintings, I also create more representational works, often inspired by the natural world. Whether I’m depicting flora or fauna, my paintings are always characterized by my signature use of texture and colour.
